Community Connections for your Classroom

Through the Mystery Rock programs students discover local rock formations and the forces that have shaped the landscape. In the course of their field exploration, students identify patterns and rock types that relate to local geological history. Combine a Rock Comparison Program with our Mystery Rock Hike to discover how Ice Sheets and Glacial Activity informed the land we call home. To gain an understanding of how our land continues to change join us as we study Stream Erosion by building miniature stream landscapes where students experiment with the variables at play in erosion.
